Indian Air Force Day – The Indian Air Force (IAF) (ISO: Bhāratīya Vāyu Senā) is the air arm of the Indian Armed Forces. Its primary mission is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during armed conflicts. It was officially established on 8 October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British India which honoured India’s aviation service during World War.

The Orientation Programme for the 2025 MBBS batch was successfully organized to provide new medical students with a comprehensive introduction to the curriculum, academic expectations, and campus life. This engaging event aimed to familiarize students with the various subjects, teaching methodologies, and esteemed faculty members they will encounter throughout their medical journey.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by our Principal, Dr. S. Sivasuthan, who set a positive and motivating tone for the day. The traditional lamp lighting ceremony followed, symbolizing the beginning of a new chapter for the students. Addresses by all Heads of Departments and the wardens of both the men’s and ladies’ hostels further enriched the session, helping students feel connected and supported by the institution’s leadership

The orientation programme for the 2020 batch of house surgeons was organized to provide an overview of their roles, responsibilities, and essential training.
The Orientation Programme for the 2020 batch of house surgeons was organized to provide an overview of their roles, responsibilities, and essential training. The sessions were designed to help interns transition smoothly into clinical practice while maintaining professionalism, ethics, and patient safety. Over the course of three days, facilitators from various departments guided the new doctors through hospital policies, clinical protocols, medico-legal aspects, communication skills, and practical training.
Program Schedule
Day 1 – 10.09.2025 (Wednesday)
The day began with a Welcome Address by the Principal, followed by a session on Rules and Responsibilities of Interns led by CRRI coordinators and HoDs. The Medical Superintendent highlighted hospital policies, while the Forensic Medicine Department stressed Professionalism and Ethics.
The Microbiology Department briefed interns on Infection Control, and the Pharmacology Department introduced Pharmacovigilance. The day concluded with a session on Medico-Legal Cases and Consent Taking, reinforcing the legal aspects of clinical practice.

Day 2 – 11.09.2025 (Thursday)
Sessions focused on Rational Diagnostic Workups (Pathology/Biochemistry) and Rational Drug Prescription with Pharmacovigilance (Pharmacology). Afternoon sessions included Communication Skills by Dr. Ajithkumare S, and an orientation on KASP by Dr. Arunkumar K V.

Day 3 – 12.09.2025 (Friday)
The final day was dedicated to Skill Lab Training, coordinated by Dr. Arjun R Babu. Interns practiced essential clinical and procedural skills, gaining confidence in applying knowledge to real-world patient care.
