SUT Academy of Medical Sciences observes ‘World Day of Social Justice 2022’ on 20 February 2022 marking this special day of importance.

World Day of Social Justice is an international day recognizing the need to promote social justice, which includes efforts to tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion, gender inequality, unemployment, human rights, and social protections.

New & Auspicious Beginning 2021-22
Starting the college life can cause much anxiety in the hearts of new students because of a lot of unknowns – “What should my major be? Will I make friends? How will I find all of my classes? Whom do I ask if I have a question? How a medical college is different from any other school?” and many more. New student orientation program is designed to guide students in answering all their queries. Prior to the beginning of actual classes, students are given an overview of the complete realm of the College life, from academics, rules & regulations to social activities etc during the program referred to as the orientation.

SUT Academy of Medical Sciences’ objectives for the orientation program:
1) Introducing students to college life.
2) acclimatize students to their new surroundings and members of the community
3) Providing a mutual platform for the Students and the
University stake holders to build an effective eco system.

The Orientation Program for the new MBBS students (2021-2022 batch) of SUT Academy of Medical Sciences – Thiruvananthapuram was held on 14th Feb 2022 with an overwhelming participation from the students, their parents, dignitaries and faculty members, who all graced the occasion with their enthused presence.
Next, a brief description of the institute, which included the vision/mission/motto, history and reputation of college along with recent achievements were given by the anchors. The students were then given a presentation regarding the academics, disciplines and environment at the institute, the facilities and infrastructure of college, hostels, mess and the food.

SUT Academy of Medical Sciences observes ‘World Radio Day 2022’ on 13 February 2022 marking this special day of importance.

World Radio Day is an international day celebrated on 13 February each year. The Day was decided by UNESCO on 3 November 2011 during its 36th conference. The theme for World Radio Day 2022 is ‘Radio and Trust’ as it continues to be one of the most trustworthy news resources. The day is also divided into three subthemes mentioned below: Trust in radio journalism. Trust and Accessibility.

 

World Cancer Day 2022

SUTAMS observes ‘World Cancer Day 2022’ on 4 February 2022

SUT Academy of Medical Sciences observes ‘World Cancer Day 2022’ on 4 February 2022 marking this special day of importance.

#IndianConstitutionDay, also known as National Law Day, is celebrated in India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted to the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.

 

‘A Red child in Pandemic’ Program

Department of Paediatrics and Department of Pathology of SUTAMS conducted the CPC of the month on 21 December 2021.

The CPC for the month was organised jointly by the Department of Paediatrics and Department of Pathology of SUTAMS on 21st December 2021. Topic of discussion was about ‘A Red child in Pandemic’.

Dr.Jothis John Johnson, Senior Resident, Department of Paediatrics presented the case. The Pathological aspects of the case was discussed by Dr.Shone Thomas Babu, Senior Resident, Department of Pathology. The presentation was followed by short discussion. The meeting was attended by Faculty and House Surgeons.


 

Christmas Celebrations 2021

Paediatrics Dept. at SUTAMS celebrated ‘Christmas 2021’ in grand style

The Department of Paediatrics, SUTAMS, Vattapara, Trivandrum celebrated the joy of Christmas on 23/12/2021. The programme was attended by faculty, staff and House Surgeons. House Surgeons sang Christmas Carol and songs and it was followed by cake cutting and lunch.



 

World AIDS Day Awareness at SUTAMS

Department of Dermatology conducted an awareness programme along with the Poster Competition for the UG students of SUTAMS.

As a part of the World AIDS Day, Department of Dermatology conducted an awareness programme along with the Poster Competition for the UG students of #SUTAMS. The programme was held in the Auditorium- on 01.12.2021 started at 9 AM.
 
Dr. Kavitha K,Associate Professor gave an awareness talk highlighting the theme of the Day this year. The Principal, Dr.Salil Kumar gave a short talk with regard to the AIDS manifestations associated with ENT speciality.
Also contributions of awareness were given by Dr.Sarada (Virologist + HOD & PROF.-Dept. of Microbiology) and Co­ordinator of National Service Scheme – Dr. Goutham (Dept. of Forensic Medicine)
 
An interactive session by asking questions to the students were also done. Also prizes were distributed to the Poster Competition Winners at the end of the session.

 

 

AIDS Day Program at LMS High School

SUTAMS’ AIDS Awareness Program at LMS Higher Secondary School, Vattapara

NSS Unit of SUTAMS, Vattapara, Trivandrum conducted an AIDS Awareness program on 1 December 2021 at LMS Higher Secondary School, Vattappara.

Students and members participated and carried the message of this outreach program organised by SUTAMS. The program was a grand success.


 

World Antimicrobial Awareness Program

SUTAMS observed in grand style ‘World Antimicrobial Awareness Week’ with multitude of Events

#SUTAMS, Vattapara, Trivandrum organised a one-day program on 24th November 2021 which included #Quiz program and Poster presentation by #MBBS students of 2017,2018 & 2019 batches, during the #WorldAntimicrobialAwarenessWeek, 2021 (November 18-24, 2021).
According to the 2021 theme, Spread Awareness, Stop Resistance, SUTAMS faculty and students have decided to be AMR Awareness champions
