The Department of Community Medicine at SUT Academy of Medical Sciences (SUTAMS) organized an Antibiotic Stewardship Program to promote the rational use of antibiotics and raise awareness about the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
The program highlighted the importance of appropriate antibiotic prescribing practices, adherence to treatment guidelines, and the collective responsibility of healthcare professionals in preserving the effectiveness of existing antibiotics. Through informative sessions and interactive discussions, participants gained insights into evidence-based strategies for optimizing antibiotic use while ensuring the best possible patient outcomes.
Faculty members, postgraduate students, interns, and healthcare professionals actively participated in the program, reaffirming their commitment to responsible antibiotic use and infection prevention practices. The initiative reflects SUTAMS’ continued dedication to advancing patient safety, public health, and quality healthcare through education and evidence-based clinical practice.
