To create mass awareness about corneal blindness and eye donation, a camp was organised by Community Medicine department at Aanad government school on 28th August with active participation of students and staff, Department of Ophthalmology. Awareness sessions about eye donation by medical students and clarification of doubts by faculty were conducted in OPD
The department conducted a poster competition on the topic “Eye Donation” for students and house surgeons. A poster display regarding eye donation and eye banking was conducted for public.
A CME was conducted on September 2nd. Dr Salil Kumar, Principal, chaired the meeting and Dr T Jayalekshmi, HOD, Department of Ophthalmology welcomed the gathering. Dr Kajal Seema.S, Professor,Department of Ophthalmology gave a talk on eye donation followed by an interactive session. Prizes were distributed to the poster competition winners
