The Dept. of DVL, SUTAMS, had the privilege of attending a CME on urticaria, Hives Unveiled, at Pushpagiri Medical College, Thiruvalla.
Our HOD, Dr. Abdul Samad, delivered an enlightening talk on Management of Urticaria: From Flare to Care, sharing valuable insights on effective care strategies.

Shanmugam, was conferred with an honorary doctorate by Mysore University in recognition of his exceptional contributions to education and medical services. The prestigious award was presented during the 105th Graduation ceremony at the university on 18th January, 2025.
A proud law graduate of Bangalore University, Dr. Shanmugamchose the state of Karnataka and its people, making it his “karma bhoomi.” His journey of service began in 1992 with the establishment of the RajaRajeswari Dental College Hospital, followed by the founding of the RajaRajeswari Medical College & Hospital. There are 4 key messages of the toolkits that produced annually.

With the growth of the western culture across the globe, New Year’s Day on January 1 in the Gregorian calendar has been one of India’s many celebrations.

Program Highlights:
The event began with a prayer song and a ceremonial lamp lighting by Dr. Mirza, alongside esteemed faculty including Dr. Ambili Ramesh (Principal), Dr. Jayalakshmi (HOD Ophthalmology), Dr. Roy (HOD Pediatrics), and other dignitaries.
Dr. Mirza’s Lecture: A detailed session exploring the adverse effects of childhood experiences on brain development, the neurobiological basis of psychiatric disorders, and insights from his imaging research. The session also focused on prevention and management strategies, followed by a highly engaging interactive Q&A session.
Honoring Dr. Mirza: He was presented with a memento and certificate by Dr. Ambili Ramesh and Dr. Jayalakshmi, respectively.
Prize Distribution: Winners of the KUHS cultural event, organized by the Student’s Union, were awarded medals by Dr. Mirza.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Anupama Prakash (SR, Department of Psychiatry) and the National Anthem.
