Every Year, Nationwide, Eye Donation Fortnight is celebrated from August 25th to September 8th, to create Mass Awareness about corneal blindness & emphasize the importance of eye donation.
  
In connection to this, The Department of Ophthalmology conducted a CME on August 26th, 2025. Dr. S. Sivasuthan, Principal, SUTAMS chaired the meeting & Dr. Kajal Seema S, HOD, Dept. of Ophthalmology welcomed the gathering.
 
Dr. Swapna Nair(Senior Consultant, Cataract, Cornea & Refractive services, Sreenethra Eye Care) gave an informative talk on the subject, “Eye Donation: Science & Society”– which was well received by students and faculty members. She also highlighted many relevant clinical and social dilemmas related to the current situation in Eye Donation in our state.

At the end of the session, prizes were distributed to the winners of Quiz competition conducted on 22th August, 2025.
