The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of SUTAMS successfully organized a “Say No to Drugs and Smoking” awareness program on 15th December 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, at the college campus.
The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and smoking, while promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The campaign aimed to educate and empower students to make informed decisions and effectively resist peer pressure.
The event was organized by the NSS Unit, SUTAMS, under the guidance of Dr. Krishna Kumar M K, Professor & Head, Department of Community Medicine and NSS Program Officer, and Dr. Meera Varghese, Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine and NSS Co-ordinator.The program witnessed active participation from NSS Volunteers and the NSS Team, comprising Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III students, who played a key role in planning and executing the activities.
A series of impactful and engaging activities were conducted as part of the campaign, including a flash mob, a street play, a health education session, a pledge-taking ceremony, and the unveiling of an anti-drug painting. These activities effectively conveyed strong messages against drug abuse and smoking, leaving a lasting impression on the student community.
The program concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the commitment of students towards staying drug-free. The event was well-received and served as a meaningful initiative in promoting social responsibility and public health awareness among students.
