CANCER DAY 2021 Observation at SUTAMS – SUTAMS conducted a cancer awareness and detection programme on 4th February 2021 in connection with World Cancer Day.
The awareness programme was inaugurated by Dr Rajapradeep, Medical Superintendent.The speakers were Dr.K.E Rajan, Pulmonologist, who expressed the tobacco cessation and the various etiological factors of lung cancer.
Dr.Ashok Gopinatha, Professor and HOD of General Surgery explained in detail, the clinical and pathological aspects of CA breast.
Dr.Lakshmi Nair stressed the etiological factors of genitourinary system in females.
Dr.Jayakrishnan.R explained the role of panparag and nicotine as the etiological factor for oral cancer. He also showed the various management techniques of oral cancer.

It was followed by a question and answer session and the speakers answered the queries of participants. A total of 101 doctors and students attended this programme.

Two day cancer screening camp was also conducted at SUTAMS hospital.Awareness leaflets were distributed and necessary guidelines were given to the patients. A total of 212 patients attended the two days camp.
